Founded in 2001 by His Holiness Sakya Trizin
as a center where both monastic and lay practitioners can
devote themselves to study, contemplation and meditation,
Tsechen Kunchab Ling, under the direction of Venerable Lama
Kalsang Gyaltsen, offers a full range of programs throughout
the year. In addition to His Holiness’ periods of residence
and teaching visits by senior lamas of the Sakya Order, Tsechen
Kunchab Ling holds annual courses on philosophical and ritual
studies, guided meditation retreats on foundational and advanced
topics, as well as regular weekend workshops, pujas, and Dharma
celebrations.
Just a one hour drive from New York City, yet situated in
a quiet corner in the Village of Walden, Tsechen Kunchab Ling
is easily reachable by car or public transportation, and offers
a peaceful and pleasant environment conducive to authentic
study, contemplation, and meditation on the full range of
the Buddha’s teaching.
